Welcome everyone!
My name is Stephanie and I live in NC with my awesome husband, two children and our dog Benson. I've been quilting on and off for the past 21 years, mostly off tho! In the past, quilting was something I thought about all the time and rarely could find time to do it. When I did found the time, I only created the top and ALWAYS thought I would quilt it when I got a lot better at quilting 🤦🏾♀️.
Does Blessed 2 Quilt ring a bell? Yep, that was me! I also created a podcast under the same name. Many things in my life has changed in the past 4 years. During both the good and bad times, thinking on the goodness of God and quilting got me through it all. I'm now at a place in my life where I have the time to do mostly everything I love to do in a day, woo hoo!
My husband purchased a Handi Quilter Avante for me in 2013. Again, this was during my "iffy" period in life. I loved her, but after visiting a friend and playing on her Innova, I knew I had to sell my Avante. I sold her in May 2017 before moving into our forever home. August 2017, I purchased a 22" Innova, with Lightening Stitch and Navigator. I've been doing a lot of doodling and now ready to put thread to quilt. Thing is, I'm a beginner. I've never put what I learned on a quilt as of yet. I know, silly right?!? Well, this is what I want this blog to be about. I will be putting into action what I have learned from classes and my idols. I want to use this platform to give other newbies someone they can relate to. I look to all my idols for inspiration, but seriously, my quilting is not going to look like theirs, RIGHT NOW! 😉 Guess what, it's not supposed to! Let's do this together. Are you ready? Let's get started, let's go practice, practice, practice and then put it on a quilt!
